New community partnership plays to our theatre-loving Savvy’s strengths

Savvy edited and compiled sound bites for the Playhouse's June production for several weeks.

We're proud to welcome Lakewood Playhouse to our growing roster of community partners.

Community inclusion looks different for everyone. For Savvy, it looks like a soundboard, a microphone check and a team of theatre professionals who recognize exactly what she brings to the table.

Her Centerforce provider did the research, made the calls and coordinated the match. When Savvy connected with Tech Manager Brookelyne and Production Manager Luke to talk through rehearsals, mic checks, costume design and photography, it was clear this was exactly the right fit.

She edited and compiled sound bites for the Playhouse's June production for several weeks. (You can see her work as the last week of shows are still happening — secure tickets at lakewoodplayhouse.org/carrie.html)

This is what community inclusion is designed to do: connect people with meaningful opportunities in the places they already love, alongside people who value what they bring.

Centerforce has been building partnerships like this across south King, Pierce, and Thurston counties for over 55 years. Our community partners — from food banks and museums to churches, nonprofits and now a beloved local theatre — share a common belief: that everyone deserves a place in their community.

If your organization is interested in becoming a Centerforce community partner, we'd love to connect.
